September 2020 / zeron organizes online voting for "audience favorite"
For the past seven years Aktionsforum Glasverpackung has been paying tribute to unique food and beverage products in glass packaging with its ‘Produktinnovation in Glas’ (Innovative Product in Glass) award. The nominees and award winners are usually announced at the ‘Trendtag Glas’ sector event, and there is always a public choice award which allows visitors to vote for their favourite. Like many other events, this year’s Trendtag Glas has been postponed until September 2021 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To ensure that the public choice award vote could still take place in 2020 an online voting tool was provided on the Aktionsforum Glasverpackung website. zeron used all of the initiative‘s communication channels to invite people to take part in the online voting process. The nominated companies helped out by encouraging their social media fans to vote with their own very effective promotion activities.
The public choice voting project was a great success and the wide reach achieved through the communication activities and social media sharing meant that far more people than usual voted. Website traffic also increased significantly and the online voting concept had the additional positive effect of raising consumer awareness for the sector award.
