On his summer trip this year, Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck stopped off at our customer Ardagh Glass Packaging to find out about the innovative ‘NextGen Furnace’ melting furnace at the Obernkirchen glassworks, which is a milestone in the decarbonisation of the glass industry. A large delegation from his ministry and 20 journalists from ARD to ZDF, from Capital to ZEIT accompanied him.
A PR project with a picture-book character, for which zeron took over the direction and coordination with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). We prepared and organised the press event, including a tour of the plant and a meeting with the minister, to ensure that everything worked perfectly - from the accreditation list for the BKA to the press release, the fact sheet and position paper to the briefing of the team in production and much more.
In addition to the non-trivial topics ranging from electricity prices and grid charges to hydrogen infrastructure, the challenge was to ensure that there were no disruptions and that we made the most of the time. Above all, because a factory tour in glass production is always accompanied by strict safety regulations - and the 60 or so participants had to be equipped with overalls, helmets, headsets, earplugs and safety goggles without taking too long.
Minister Habeck took 1.5 hours of his time and had an open ear for the concerns of the glass industry during the ministerial talks. An up-close-and-personal project that was extremely exciting in terms of content, organisation and logistics.
