September 2022 / zeron manages Badische Stahlwerke’s corporate PR

Badische Stahlwerke in Kehl is one of the largest and technologically most advanced electric-steel plants in Europe. With 865 employees, they produce up to 2.4 million tonnes of reinforcing steel for the construction industry in Germany and neighbouring countries and rank among the ten largest steel mills in Germany.

Sustainability, climate neutrality and the energy crisis are just three of the many issues Badische Stahlwerke is confronted with on a daily basis - also in its communications. zeron has been managing the external communications for the steel plant on the Rhine since September. The zeron team monitors and analyses media coverage, writes press releases, responds to press enquiries, drafts statements, develops Q&As, places interviews and conducts interviews with editorial teams.

It’s a challenging PR job that zeron was happy to accept. That's partly because it’s so fascinating to see the molten steel, which at a temperature of 1,600 degrees is as liquid as water and hotter than lava, being cast into so-called continuous cast billets. The press loves this powerful image, too!
